Hello again my page viewers. I'm today's scribe. Today's homework:Pages 43 & 44 in the yellow booklet. On page 43, you have to do the chart and all the even questions ie: Questions 2,4,6,8... you get the picture, all the way to 60. You shouldn't need my help but, just in case, here's 2-10:
5+(-8)= -3 9+7= 16 -9 + -13 = -21 5 + -14 = -9 6 + -16 = -10
Now the chart: It is 10 rows X 15 columns. That is 150 questions but, if you're fast enough, you can finish it in about 10 minutes. Here, I did the first row for you :
-16, -7, -12, -4, 0, -14, -17, 0, -12, -5, -3, -9, -2, -8, -10.
There is an even harder part. On page 44, there are word problems. You have to take the positive and negative values and put them into an equation. This won't take up much of you're time if you write out all the values into an equation and COMBINE LIKE TERMS; add up all the positives and negatives in a step by step process. I'll give you an example:
The temperature starts at -25 C, drops 13 C, rises 3 C and rises 8 C. Lets break it up a bit:
The temperature starts at -25 C (-25), Drops 13 C (-13), rises 3 C (+3) and rises 8 C (+8).
The equation for this would be (-25) + (-13) + 3 + 8 = ?
Now back to combining like terms: Combine the -25 and the -13 to get this: (-38) + 3 + 8.
Then combine the 3 + 8 to make this equation: (-38) + 11 = 27 C
Your problem should look like this:
(-25)+(-13)+3+8= 27 C
(-38)+11= -27 C
Hope this helps! Now the next scribe is ZACH.
