Okay peoples, so in math today we went over the Pythagoras theory thing. So if you weren't listening then keep reading cause Im going to say everything we did in class (well almost everything (: ).
But wait, theta and beta don't always have to be 45 degrees each. We did 45 degrees each because 4s is half of 90 and 45x2+90! see where we are going with this?

So what we discovered about pythagoras was that he was a greek guy who discovered the proof of the right triangle, and this is how it works.
Right triangles of course have a right angle hence the name "right" triangle. Now a right triangle must have a 90 degree angle. So were would this 90 degree angle be?
See where the the little box is around the corner there, well it is marking where the right angle is. Thats how we know it is a right angle! Get it yet?
We also discovered that the to other angles which are called Theta and Beta equal 45 degrees.

Now that we have covered the angles of the triangle lets move on.
So what I am getting to with the triangles is that when you put to right triangles together your going to get a square! OH SNAP!

but remember it wil only work if theta and beta angles equal 90 degrees.
You can also do the same thing with rectangles the only difference is that all the sides aren't equal!
And there we have it!

Pay It Forward
For mine and Charissa's pay it forward we went over to Magnis Ellice Recreation Centre(M.E.R.C), an inner city community centre. We took some brownies that we baked and handed them out to the little kids there, and the staff. They smiled and thanked us for the brownies. They were so good they all wanted more! (were good bakers :D ) We explained to one of the staff members why we were there and then she explained to the kids what we were doing. She told them that after getting the brownies they were to do something nice for someone else. We hope that they follow what was said.

Dwight:I cant figure out this algebra equation
Philip:well then maybe I can help. Whats the question?
Dwight:I doubt it but you can give it a shot if you like.
Philip:Sure!
Dwight: n+3-5n+1 , I can't figure it out!
Philip:Okay, so first, what do you think the awnser is?
Dwight: I keep getting -6n+15 but I don't know if it is right!
Philip: hhmm. That does not seem right. Let me check.....Okay!
Dwight: you got the awnser!?
Philip: yup! Well to start your awsner was wrong! the awnser is -4n+4.. Now let me show you how I got that. First you would rewrite the question and combine the like terms like so
"-5n+n+3+1" then you simplify! so you will end up with this "-4n+4" .
Dwight: Oh! now I see. Thanks Philip!
Philip: no problemo. See you later Dwight!

Dwight: Uhhhmm.... coudl you help me with another one?

see the awnser would be 12n+34 silly.

Philip:you see . what you were doing was ading 2 and 8. What you have to do its times 4 and 3 and you get 12n. and then times 4 and 8 and you get 32. so then you take the 2 and add it to 32. so you will end up with 12n+32. see!

Adding Integers
Adding can be fun
if you understand it right

But with many rules to follow
Teaches alot
Reaches its limits with makeing math easy
Allowing the use of adding in subtracing

so there is this girl
who came up with a rule
making math easy
for everyone to know
she wrote the rule down
on this great big board
teaching the world something new
as she wrote
she spoke with great words
"odd amounts of negitives always make a negitive"
"even amount of negitives always make a postive"
finished the rule with an acomplished look on face
knowing she taught something knew
make math easy
as possible as it gets.

i stood there puzzled
not for filling my task
to awnser to question
that was put before me
i replied with a shrugg
and begain to walk off
the little tree called me back
and said they would teach me
i took up there offer and recoiled back
i sat down beside the little tree
as i watched i was amazed what i saw
3 large cirlces
with 2 little boxes in each
the tree had explained that
there were three two's in six
as i got up
i tahnk the little tree
for teaching me math
i now memorized like a rock.

Okay so for all of you that weren't listening or paying attention in class, this is what we went over in class today. We went over over our homework from Tuesday (since we didn't have math on Wesnday :D). We went over page 87 part A in the Pink booklet. We had to write the expressions for Part A.
Here is 1 the "scary" questions we went over from Tuesday. (sorry only 1 I dont remebr the scary ones ): ).

+ 7 - A number divided by four minus seven.
Okay so this is what we learned in math as todays lesson.
1. ½x =20 - One over two multiplyed by a number makes twenty
5. 3(2x) =-15 - three multiplyed by two times a number equals negitive fifteen.
6. 4(2x-7) =123 - Four times the difference of two multiplyed a number less than seven equals 123
7. x+75<250 - A number plus seventy-five IS less than 250
and then the last one we didn't really touch up on but here it is anyways .
9. x,x+1,x+2 -A number, A number and one, a number and two.
for this one we used or fun numbers and did this.
x, x 1, x+2
10,10 1, 10, 2
so yes..
Mr. Harbeck gave us homework to do tonight and we were assigned page 88 in the Pink booklet. We have to do part C. Translate the english senteces into mathematical expressions.
Okay so thats my scribe post... ENJOY!
WAIT... I forgot something.... our 5 poems about integers have to be in on Friday, December 5th 2008. so DON'T forget that :D

The Adventures Of Integer Rex

Rex is a dinosaur.One day Rex got hungry and decided to go on an adventure to find some food. while he is out, Rex runs into some trouble and only integers can save him now!
So off went Rex. Rex had been walking for a while, he was getting really tired. Rex had come to a bridge. He was very happy when he did because he could see on the other side berries and all kinds of fruits! So Rex started across the bridge. All of a sudden a giant dragon jumped out from no where. (well from what Rex could see). The dragon grabbed Rex and said to him "if you can not answer this question i will eat you for dinner"! Rex said "what is the question"? The dragon said "(-3)+(+5)=" Rex said "(+2)" The dragon started laughing but then he realized that what Rex said was right! so the dragon snarled at Rex then put him down and flew away. Rex was so happy that he wasn't the dragons dinner, because then he would never be able to eat his yummy dinner of berries.
Off went Rex. Finally Rex was across the bridge. Now he thought that he was finally at the berries, but oh was he wrong. He was right that he saw that berries but there was a creek in between him and the berries. Rex was sad now because he thought that he would never get to eat that night. But Rex didn't give up. He told himself that he had to find a away over that creek. So Rex walked along the creek maybe he could find a log of a broken tree or something that he could walk over to get to the berries. And then he saw it! a tree had fallen over and made a small bridge over the creek. But what Rex thought was a bridge was really a small elf wizards home!
Rex started across the the tree but herd knocking and stomping coming from inside the tree! Rex got curious and decided to go investigate. So Rex bent over and look under the bridge and saw a whole! It was a small whole nothing Rex could fit into, so he decided to keep going. But that's not what the elf-wizard had in mind for Rex. All of a sudden The elf-wizard jumped in front of Rex and cast a spell on him so that he couldn't walk. Rex roared in terror and pleaded for the wizard to let him free but the elf-wizard refused to let him free until he answered a question!
The Elf-wizard said to Rex "i will let you free if you answer this question" "(-6)+(+10)=" .
Rex looked at the elf-wizard and said "(+4)". The elf-wizard look puzzled and crushed. he said "no one has ever been able to figure out my questions i guess you can go". Rex was thrilled! he said thank-you to the elf-wizard and went on his way.
Rex had finally reached the berries! So Rex ate and ate and ate until he could eat no more. So all in all Rex and crazy yet satisfying day!

-add up all the numbers is a set of data and divide the sum by the amount of numbers in the data.
-the most repeating number in a set of data
-the number in the middle of the data after the numbers have been put in ascending order . if there are too numbers in the middle you add them together and divivde by 2.
