Decimals

To find the decimal you have to divide the numerator by the denominator.

2 divided by 3 = 0.6 repeated
4 divided by 6 =0.6 repeated

Once more to to get a decimal you have to divide the numerator by the denominator.

1 divided by 4 = 0.25
1 divided by 8 = 0.125

So in conclusion we found out that to get a decimal you have to divide the numerator by the denominator.

Pay It Forward

Monday, January 12, 2009

I didn't know what to do for pay it forward so... I over heard some boys saying "I wish we had boogie boards for the big waves out here" Then i said do you guys want two boogie boards then they said ok how much i said nothing just pay it forward then they said what do you mean. I said i mean pay it forward by doing a good deed for free then tell them to pay it forward. They said ok we will. Then they left to go hit the waves. Later i saw them laughing and having fun with them and when i was leaving i saw them giving the boards to some other kids and then i heard them say pay it forward then explain what they meant by it. I didn't think they would do it but they did. That is my pay it forward project.

But i have to go down this path

Chapter two Combining
Like Terms

Son: Mom can you help me

Mother: Sure what do u need my help with

Son: My math homework

Mother: Oh what are u doing and what questions do you need help with

Son: Well we are combining like terms and Distributive Property, I need help with this question and there is a few more...

Mother: Wait. Lets just start with that question first what is the question.

Son: It is n + 3 minus 5 n + 12 .

Mother: Ok what do u think you have to do first

Son: I think I have to...? Ummm Combined the like terms?

Mother: Thats right! Good Job. So it is n + 5n in one bracket with 12 and 3 in the other. Then what?

Son: Well I need two different terms so i should solve the brackets.

Mother: Okay how would you do that then?

Son: Well n + 5n is -4n?

Mother: Good Job. and in the other bracket?

Son: Oh that is easy. 12 plus 3 is 15

Mother: So what is your answer?

Son: -4n + 15

Mother: Good...

Son: Ok The next question is 2 + 4 (3 n + 8)

Mother: Why don't you go try that one then if you need help just call me

Son: Ok i think i get it now so I mite not need your help. Thanks mom

Mother: Your very welcome

Brendyns Integer Story

Friday, October 24, 2008
It was a nice morning i went downstairs to eat my breakfast i always had Alphabets. I went and poured my cereal into the bowl. I looked down and my cereal spelled integer. Then we had math first class and we learned about itegers. I thought it was very freaky. I went home and i did my integer homework. Then i went downstairs to get something to eat. I got alphegetie and I looked down and my alphegetie gave me and integer question. so i started moving the numbers around and i solved the question.

(+9)+(-8)=(+1)

It was late so i went to bed. It gave me an integer question in my number sheets. I grabbed a marker i answered it and I went to sleep.

Hey i am todays scribe today you have to do G 41 to 50 on page 44 H which is the chart on page 45 and I on page 45 (all questions) This is all in the yellow booklet. For G on page 44 I have Chosen these questions for examples...

41.) (+99)+(-85)+(+13) 42.) (-88)+(-42)+(+36)

(+99)+(+13)+(-85) (-130)+(+36)

(+112)+(-85) = (-94)

= (+27)

As you see I put the posotives together These where already in order so i just

then i added them and then I subtracted solved it then i got my answer.

85 then I got my answer.

44.) (+15)+(-15)+(+102) 45.) (+56)+(+56)+(+56)

(+15)+(+102)+(-15) = (+168)

(+117)+(-15)

= (+102)

Again I just put the posotives together This one was easy I just added them all

then i added them and subtracted 15 then together and I got my answer.

I got my answer.

49.) (+23)+(+24)+(-25)

(+47)+(-25)

= (+22)

This one was already in order

so all i did was added the two posotives

then i subtracted the 25 then I got my answer

Don't forget you don't just do this you also have to do page 45 in the yellow booklet

The next scribe is...

Tomorrows scribe is Katrina.

Mean -The Average of all numbers in a set

78+66+82+89+75+74 = 464

464/6 = 77.3

Hence, 77.3 is the mean average

Median -The middle of a set of numbers

66 74 75 78 82 89

75 + 78 = 153
153 / 2 = 76.5

Hence, the middle number is 76.5.

Mode - The data that shows up the most

78 56 68 92 84 76 74 56 68 66 78 72 65
65 53 61 62 78 84 61 90 87 77 62 88 81
The mode is 78.
