Chapter 1 : Poems
Adding Integers
Take an Integer
Get one more and combine them
New total is sum
Subtracting Integers
Taking away is
Subtraction
Dividing is like
Subtraction
Get one integer
Subtraction
Take away the other integer
Subtraction
Here is your difference
Subtracting . . .
Partitive Division
You need to group up
The integers into groups
Count all the groups made
Quotative Division
Quotative Division
It's not that hard to do
All you mainly think about
is "How much in each group"?
For example you have a 6
and then divide it by 2
your answer is 3
but then I ask you . . . "What about the groups"?
So then you count how many ints are in the groups you see
and when you count those ints right up
you'll find it was so easy
Pratt's Law
If you take and even amount
of negative ints you see
Their product will always, always be positive
and you'll be surprised like me!
Now if you take, an odd amount
of positive ints this time
The product will be negative
and the answer will truly shine
Chapter 2 : ScriptOne Day before their lunchtime break, 2 boys bravely discuss their math problems together.... :)
Nicko:Hey Patrick!
Patrick:Hiya Nicko!
Nicko:You think you could help me with my homework?
Patrick:Sure Nicko! Just as long as you help me with mine too!
Nicko:Sure!
Patrick:I'll go first. My question is n+3-5n+12. Tough one eh?
Nicko:I'll try xD. Ok, to solve this equation, I'll first add the like terms. That means n and -5n is -6n and +3 and +12 is +15. Soooo....-6n+15! DENNGG!! IM SO PRO!!! HAHAA!!
Patrick:BUAHAAHHA!! NICE TRY PUNY HUMAN, BUT YOU'RE WRONG! I WAS TESTING YOU TO SEE IF YOU KNEW THE ANSWER AND IF YOU WERE SMART ENOUGH! IM EVVVVIIIILLLL!!! :) The answer actually is -4n+15 because you added n and -5n wrong! BUAH!
Nicko:AAWW MAN! -_-...oh well! now its my turn!. My question is 2 + 4(3n+8)!
Patrick:LOLLZRRSS! easy peasy! :) ...To answer this question I'm gonna have to do the brackets first. DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY TIME!! WOOT! 4 multiplied by 3n is 12n! That just leaves +8 and 2! 12n+10! BUAH!
Nicko:WRONG YOU NOOB! -_-. . . You distributed wrong! You forgot to multiply 4 and 8 too! The correct answer is actually 12n+34!
Patrick:I WAS ALSO TESTING YOU!. . . .or was I? oh well :) atleast we got our questions done!
Nicko:Yeahp! thnx Patrick! Cya after lunch!
Patrick:Alrite!. . .Ill be at school on time after lunch! *WINK WINK*
