Now we get to the math for today, we had to do our green booklet that Mr. Harbeck gave us about 1 week ago and we had to do some parts 2 and part 3 on the next page.
We had to do learn Standard form in Integers rule and there are only 3 so here they are:
1) Never Subtract(add the opposite)
2)Regroup and Re-write
3)Have (1 +) and have (1 -)
That means in the end before you get the total you should have 1 group of positive integers and 1 group of negative integers.
Now we have our homework for today we did some of Part 2 and do the odds and Part 3 which is on the next page of the booklet. Now here are 2 questions on part 2 and 2 questions on part 3, here is part 2:
Question 3 on part 2:
8-(-4)+7-(-2)=
this is where the rules kick in to see if you are doing the process right:
So for question 3 Part 2 the answer is 21 now here is another question
Question #5 in part 2 it is:
12-(-3)+6-9
if you re-write that it should look like this:12+(+3)+6-9=
12+3+6-9=
21-9=12so 12 is the answer for question # 5 if you already did that question.
Now this brings us to part 3 it is a lot more confusing but its very easy if you do your steps correct, I'm going to do question 2 and question 10 so here is question #2
Question 2 in part 3 it is:
Now this brings us to part 3 it is a lot more confusing but its very easy if you do your steps correct, I'm going to do question 2 and question 10 so here is question #2
Question 2 in part 3 it is:
(8-11)-(4-5)=
(-3)+(-1) re-written with brackets
-3-1 re-written with no brackets
(-3)+(-1) re-written with brackets
-3-1 re-written with no brackets
The answer is -4 on part 3 question number 2 okay now for the last question, question #10 and it looks like this:
Question 10 part 3 it is
-(-2+8)+(-3-4)=
+(+10)+(-7) with brackets
10-7 with no brackets and it equals 3
so the answer to number 10 on part 3 is 3. So that was for homework just the green booklet and also the is a quiz on Thursday about this I think so you better be prepared!!
Heey Jay, heres my comment. You did a very good job. but, on the "integer rule" part. Its a little confusing, when you read the rules it looks like its in one sentence. And you did a very good job on one picture but thats your only picture. You should've put pictures on most of the questions. Im not sure, but i think your also suppose to include the questions that we had talked about in class. And yeah, other than that it was really awesome (: oh, add more colours on the fonts.

Hi jay ! Well, I think your post was really nice. You put like math words and your made it sound so smart. Um, I think when you are listing the rules your supposed to do to solve the integer question properly you should put it like this :
1) type the rule and enter
2) type the rule and enter
3) type the rule and enter
I think its better to do it like that because its easier to read. I think thats all you have to do next time .. OH WAIT , make it more colourful :D Well , yours was great that so GOOD JOB!
