How to subtract mixed by making improper fractions

3 1/4 - 1 1/2=?

Lets Simplify it into:

3 1/4 - 1 2/4

now we can subtract ;D

I will use this method (denominator x whole number + numerator = improper fraction)

3 1/4 - 1 2/4

(3 x 4 + 1) 1 x 4 + 2

13/4 - 6/4 = 7/4

= 1 3/4

So yeah the answer is 1 and 3 quarters.

Borrowing

50 1/10 - 25 4/5

49 10/10 + 1/10

49 11/10 - 24 5/5 + 1/5

49 11/10- 24 6/5
