Today in class Mr. Harbeck talked more about "Integers". We picked up where we left of, we picked up on zero pairs.

Today we had like 100 questions but i managed to finish it. Ill talk about one or two questions from each section.

On Pg 41 we had to use a numberline and starting at zero, if your move right it's not negative so it's like normal, if you move left you are negative. On this numberline indicate what number you will end up at.

Question 1. 7 to the right, 3 to the left
so basically it's saying you need to go to the 7th number on the right{positive} and then move back 3 numbers to the left{negative}.

If you did that question your answer must be 4, if you got it wrong try again util you get it right.

Question 2. 6 to the right, 5 to the right
this one isn't a real hard one because you just move on the 6th number on the right and keep going until you move up 5 more numbers.

Okay I will start on Pg. 42 now.

Use a number line if you need to get the result of each questions.

Question 1. {+4} + {+3}= 7
To answer this question you just need to do addition, so 4 + 3 we know that 4 + 4 is eight since its 3 you just need to take one away.

Question 2. {-4} + {-5}= -9
Again to answer this question you need to use addition, but the answer the has to have a - infront of it because both of the numbers in this question are negative.

Ill start on the 2nd section now in Pg. 42

Use the rules for addition to solve each of the following. Unlike the other ones I will pick random questions in this one

Question 64. (+9) + (-9)= 0
Why does this question equal zero? this questions sum was zero because the numbers were a zero pair. A zero pair is an equation that involves both operations(+, -) and they have to be the same number but opposite operations(+, -)

Question 10. (+15) + (-3)= 12
To answer this question you can either create a number line or just do addition in your head. To get the answer you need to have 15 then owe 3 in other words (+15) + (-3). You must get 12 as the answer, if you didnt keep trying until you get it!

Oh yeah sorry if any of the answers are wrong.
